2021 Summer First-Year Checklist 

Here are the next steps to join the Yellow Jacket family.

1. Complete Enrollment
  • Pay the nonrefundable $250 admission deposit by  May 3, 2021. (This will be applied toward the bill from your first semester).

  • Submit your final, official high school transcript with the date of graduation.

  • Submit your AP/IB scores and/or final college transcript.

  • Continue to check your admission portal for additional updates or requirements.

2. Choose an iGniTe Track
  • Apply for your preferred iGniTe Summer Launch program track via your admission portal.

3. Apply for Financial Aid

Students admitted to the summer term must complete financial aid applications for two separate calendar years to be considered for aid in the summer, fall, and spring terms.

Submit your financial aid application documents for the 2021 summer semester.

  • 2020-21 Georgia Tech Application for Scholarships and Financial Aid. 
  • 2020-21 FAFSA.

AND

Submit your financial aid application documents for the 2021-22 academic year.

  • 2021-22 Georgia Tech Application for Scholarships and Financial Aid.
  • 2021-22 FAFSA.
  • 2021-22 CSS Profile. (The CSS Profile will not be accepted after January 31, 2021).

4. Apply for Housing

Students applying for housing for the 2021 summer iGniTe program are currently being placed on a waitlist. We do anticipate offering housing slots to some waitlisted students. Students taken off the housing waitlist will be notified by the Department of Housing beginning in late April. Please visit summer.gatech.edu/ignite for more information.

Limited housing in campus residence halls is available for iGniTe students on a first come, first served basis. Room assignments will be single occupancy in the interest of health and safety, so housing capacity is more limited this summer than in typical years.

  • Start by completing your housing application for fall housing and applying for a Learning Community if you're interested. While it may seem backwards, you should apply for fall housing before you apply for summer housing. After your fall application, complete the Late Short Summer Housing application in the MyHousing Portal.

  • Application process includes paying a one-time $600 pre-payment made with your fall housing application.

  • Please note: Paying the $600 pre-payment AND completing the housing application are both required to be considered for a space on campus.
5. Schedule Orientation and Class Registration
  • Confirm your major via the admission portal. 
  • Register for FASET orientation via your admission portal.

  • Meet with an advisor and register for classes during your FASET orientation session. 
6. Complete Health Requirements
  • Complete the health and immunization requirements.

  • Check for a statement and due dates after completing course registration.
